Solar Energy at Chris-Marine’s Production Facilities
Summer is peak season for sunshine, and for us, that means a surge in clean, renewable energy powering our operations. Our production facility in Malmö has been making the most of this natural resource with an impressive output from our solar panel installation.
In July alone, our solar panels in Malmö generated 25 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity. To put that into perspective, this amount of clean energy is equivalent to:
- The annual carbon absorption of 450 mature trees
- Enough electricity to fully power 67 Danish households
- Avoiding the use of approximately 10 metric tons of coal
- Offsetting emissions from 83,000 kilometers driven by a typical car
This not only reduces our environmental footprint but also contributes directly to our long-term goal of decarbonizing our production processes.
Our commitment to sustainability doesn’t stop at the Swedish border. In Denmark, our facility added another 5 MWh of solar-generated electricity in July, further reinforcing our investment in greener manufacturing practices across all locations.
In addition, we have installed charging boxes in both Sweden and Denmark so our employees can charge their electric cars at work. Naturally, we are also investing in our own electric fleet.
From design to delivery, we continue to engineer with sustainability in mind. By integrating solar power into our operations, we’re not only reducing reliance on fossil fuels but also setting a course for a cleaner, more energy-efficient future.
