Chris-Marine ShaPoLi system: type approvals
We are very happy to announce the Type Approval of our Chris-Marine ShaPoLi system, by RINA and DNV. Our ShaPoLi solution is compliant with the IMO MEPC.335(76) and the IACS Rec. 172. Guidelines.
As the new EEXI regulation will impact shipowners worldwide within a short timeframe, our ShaPoLi system is an important tool, helping vessels be compliant in a cost-efficient way.
We would like to thank the RINA and DNV teams for the great collaboration during this approval process.
Chris-Marine ShaPoLi – an important tool to reach compliance
Chris-Marine ShaPoLi is a Shaft Power Limitation solution that will enable existing ships to meet the minimal energy efficiency level, to comply with the upcoming regulations.
Operating a system beyond the optimal shaft power limit can lead to inefficient fuel consumption. In addition, it can lead excessive wear and tear on components. As a result ,operational costs increase. Limiting shaft power ensures that the system operates at peak efficiency and extends the lifespan of the equipment.
To summarize, Shaft power limitation prevents overexploitation of engine resources.
Chris-Marine’s ShaPoLi system measures the actual power and limits it at the maximum level allowed, to meet the ship’s required EEXI.
